The first thing that hits you about this place is the sheer
size of everything, and then it’s the cost of everything! We saw: all the
launch sites, the building where the rockets are made, the ginormous crawler
that carries the shuttles’ highway etc.
The centre didn’t have much to offer but enough to keep us
busy for most of the day. Unfortunately there wasn’t a launch today though the
two of us might pop back here on the 18th as there’s meant to be a
launch then – we’ll see.
On the way back from the Space Centre we paid a visit to the
Florida Mall as Sean wanted to have a shopping spree! We all arranged to meet in an
hour so we could get some tea before going back to the hotels. Danny went round
with Sean on, what turned out to be, a very unsuccessful shopping spree. Sean
didn’t buy a single item and so, defeated headed back to the meeting point with
Danny. Meanwhile, the other two's tour of the mall including Corrie taking Steph on a trip to M&M World! We all met up and got some food and then went back.
Originally, Steph and Corrie had planned to go on a night
out tonight but changed their minds. Danny and Sean on the other hand, stuck
with their plan to go out to the infamous Hooters bar/ restaurant. For this
night out some room changes were made: Corrie and Steph would stay at the motel
and Danny and Sean would stay at the hotel which was right next to the bar.
Corrie and Steph enjoyed a quiet night in watching films
whilst Danny and Sean polished off half a bottle of JD and an Alco pop each
before setting off to see what all the fuss is about. Neither Dan nor Sean had
any smart shoes though and this severely restricted the amount of places they’d
be able to go to after Hooters. Most places shut early and so at midnight the
two of them were left with the options of: back to the room, the very deserted
pub next to Hooters, or as suggested by the Hooters waitress – a strip club!
They went back to the room.
