Today was the day when Corrie would attempt to conquer one
of her fears - Waverley Beach, the very beach where just over two years ago she
managed to impale her foot on a fish hook, resulting in a trip to the hospital
and a bandaged foot for most of her last visit.
Paul had his second of three flying lessons today and so
would miss out on Corrie’s trip down memory lane.
Both of us, along with Judy (our chauffeur and guide for the
day), arrived at the beach and made our way down to the black sands. It was a
glorious day and so we slowly strolled alongside the sea, all wearing footwear
and all being extra vigilant for Corrie traps. You’ll be glad to hear that we
found none of them and eventually settled down on a huge collapsed tree trunk
for our lunch. We then decided to make our way back to the car, taking photos
along the way, and thus ending a very successful trip out to this, now redeemed
Waverley Beach.
Back at the house we relaxed some more whilst Judy and Paul
sorted out things for tea tonight – a BBQ.
The BBQ tea was delicious and both seconds and thirds were
had as proof of this fact; Lamb and mint burgers, and tandoori/ curried chicken
being the stars of the show.
After the meal we sat down to play a card game called
Quiddler – a word game that Paul insists is all down to luck, though Danny and
Judy (the winners) were quick to disagree!
Then, following the game and a few more drinks we all called it quits
for the day.
