HAPPY BIRTHDAY CORRIE! We got up early so we could use the
free cooked brekki vouchers we’d
been given.
Then we went back to bed for a bit!
After a short lie-in we walked, the very long walk, down to
the black-light mini-golf place we’d found on a map. This was fun and after 18
holes we totted up the scores… Corrie ended up winning due to her birthday
bonus allowing her to take 10 off her score, a rule Danny introduced during the
score totalling!
With Corrie on a high from winning the golf we walked into town in search of one of the two Pancake Parlours. This turned out to be a huge mission, with us failing to find the first PP and struggling with the second. Eventually though we found it tucked away in a shopping centre and settled down for a well-earned pancake lunchtime. Danny got 4 crepes with lemon, sugar and ice-cream whilst Corrie got two buttermilk pancakes topped with lashings of chocolate sauce, loads of hundreds and thousands, and a large scoop of ice-cream – Corrie was in heaven!
It was quite late after lunch so we went back to the hotel;
the weather hadn’t been too kind so we skipped going up the Eureka Skydeck tower
for today.
At the hotel we cracked open the second bottle of passion
fruit wine we’d bought ages ago, whilst chilling out, and then getting ready to
go for tea. We went to a restaurant we’d been to the other night for our tea as
we knew it’d be good, and they have cheap wine! We got a large pizza each and
Corrie took the remainder of hers for breakfast/ lunch tomorrow.
Back at the hostel, whilst Corrie was out of the room, Danny
got the cake out and stood the torch against it to act as a candle (we couldn’t
have candles or matches etc due to fire alarm thing in the room.) When Corrie
entered the darkened room her first thoughts were that Danny had taken the
opportunity to fall asleep, but instead she was surprised with the cake and
make-shift candle, then even more so as Danny sang
her Happy Birthday!
We polished off the wine before going to bed.
