Day 58 - Canberra and Parliament… BORING!

We were allowed a slight lie-in today and so we set off at 08:00, making our way towards the Capital City of Australia – Canberra. Once here we stopped at the big war memorial here and had a wander around for a short while. After this we were driven around the town and our guide pointed out all the buildings of interest and giving us all the background on the Ozzy parliament and how the Capital came to be Canberra.

After lunch our guide took us on a guided tour of the new Parliament House where he filled our heads with, yet more, information and history facts.

This day trip was very informative and we learnt a lot in such a small amount of time. However, I don’t think it really was anyone’s trip highlight, with most people not being big fans of politicians (including the lady in the group who used to work in politics!) Also, though we all know the importance of a government and the big role it plays in our lives; it’s not very exciting is it?!

From here we made our way to Sydney, stopping one last time in Goulburn where we saw the biggest Big Thing yet – the Big Merino.

When in Sydney and checked in to our accommodation, we found ourselves extremely tired and, so as not to complicate things, we just went across the road and got a good old KFC for tea.

Then it was bedtime.
