Another sleep in followed by some more chilling out about
the house. We went out for a late lunch with Douglas and Alison to a nearby
newly opened diner. The food was good though Corrie’s eyes proved way bigger
than her belly as she ordered a mega breakfast including a thick stack of 3
buttermilk pancakes at least 4 inches in diameter!
Back at the house we set about doing some laundry and
planning our final days of travelling whilst D & A went round to Alison’s
son’s house for a dip in the pool. We failed at planning, accomplishing little
more than a few notes on paper and seriously increased stress levels. This was
mainly due to the hassle of booking a hire car for the time we’d be needing it.
The start and end days fall on Sundays where most companies are closed and
another of the back-up days is a public holiday which would limit us to: using
airports (expensive) or only having the car for 5 days instead of 7 (less time
to explore.) We decided to de-stress and leave the rest of the planning until tomorrow
and so we made for the garden to sunbathe!
Tea was courtesy of Corrie’s newfound love of Dairy Queen where the two of us upped our games and got the large Blizzards of our choice… so good.
