A pretty lazy day really as whilst Douglas and Alison were
out and about we slept. And slept. We got up after lunch and then proceeded to
lounge around on this very gloomy, overcast day. The forecast was for some well
needed rain though the heavens were meant to open in the evening. Danny did go
for a trip out with Alison to the local mall and had a look around while she
ran her errands.
We had an early tea and then set off to meet up with Carrie,
Andrew and the kids at a local DQ (Dairy Queen) ice-cream place. This was
because on this day proceeds from every Blizzard ice-cream bought would go to
help Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals where someone known to the family is
currently recovering. The weather forecast was correct and the rain was pouring
down so we all huddled inside the tiny store to eat and chat. This was only a
quick chat though as we had decided to try and get to the cinema tonight if we
had enough time.
D & A dropped us off and, in their infinite kindness,
had once again treated us to this and then left with Douglas to pick us up
after the film. We watched The Dark Knight Rises which we both thought was
amazing. We’d been waiting to watch this movie for ages and it really lived up
to the hype – we were impressed.
Douglas was there and waiting to take us back to the house
after the film and we caught a little of the nightly baseball round-up before
going to bed.
