Yes, yesterday really was that lazy. Today was not!
We were woken up by a lady calling about some tours we’d
booked (from: Alice Springs to Adelaide, Adelaide to Melbourne, and Melbourne
to Sydney) so we listened to her for a bit and then got up.
We started by going down to the lagoon for a spot of
sunbathing (really sunny today after a downpour last night.) After quite a
while of this we went to get some lunch; well all of the days food really and
then went back to the hostel for some pot noodles!
Next, and to cure Corrie’s lingering boredom from yesterday,
we set off on 3.5km walk to Cannonvale beach forgetting that it’d be the same
3.5km walk back! We got there and relaxed in the shade for a bit before topping
up our water and sweating our way back in the 84% humidity and scorching sun.
Once back, we hopped straight into the lagoon to cool down before we went back
to the hostel.
We grabbed our bag of goodies and headed back to the lagoon
area where we found, and set up shop, at an outdoor bbq station (these are all
over Oz and are basically a big hot plate you can turn on to bbq your food.)
Here we cooked: 2 rissoles (a kind-of meat patty,) 2 sausages, and a pork chop.
This was a good idea and was a great meal for us both; we’d brought some bread too
and a bottle of coke to wash it all down with. This was better than having
noodles or ham sandwiches and only cost us $7 for the meat so we’ll probably be
doing this again!
