Day 19 - Short stay in Hervey Bay

We had to check out of “Frasers on Rainbow” this morning, so after squeezing our bags into the luggage room we went up to the supermarket to find something for breakfast/ lunch. We wandered around the shop for ages, picking things up, putting them down, and picking them up again. We ended up getting really frustrated with our indecisiveness so decided to go to a café instead!

We got our Greyhound bus at 12:30 which was to take us to Hervey Bay. We were both thinking that this place wouldn’t have anything more to offer than Rainbow Beach, so we’d chosen to only spend one night there. However, when we arrived, it seemed to be pretty big - Massive compared to Rainbow Beach. We started thinking that maybe we should have got the bus to Hervey Bay yesterday and had two nights instead of just the one.

On the bus we re-met a couple we had originally met in Coffs Harbour, and their hostel happened to be on the same road as ours, so we had some company on the 2.5km walk there.

After checking in and showering we went for a walk on the beach, and for a nosey round (seeing as we are leaving first thing in the morning.) It was very nice to actually see the sun for the first time in about a week, and we just hope it is going to stick around for the next 7 months (flight home at the moment is on August 27th.)

By 19:00 we were both starving so went in search of food. We decided that we wouldn’t even try going to find something in the supermarket after this morning! We ended up going to a pizza place, and like usual, ordered far too much for the two of us! So, it’s pizza for breakfast tomorrow!
